State and Federal guidelines require that all special education forms and records will be maintained for six years after a student leaves the program. After that time has elapsed, the records are destroyed.
The Northeast Arkansas Education Cooperative will destroy the records of students who transitioned, moved, or for any other reason left the Special Education, Arkansas Better Chance (ABC), or HIPPY programs during the 2019 – 2020 school year.
If you have a child who received services from the Early Childhood Program during the 2019 – 2020 school year, you have the right to review and pick up your child’s records. These records will be available at the Northeast Arkansas Education Cooperative, 211 West Hickory, Walnut Ridge, AR, on Mondays through Thursdays, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
All records not picked up by June 15, 2026, will be destroyed.
*These records are not your child’s permanent school records; they are only Early Childhood forms and records.
